Newbie question, as dumb as it may sound!!
Maybe I need to get my eyes checked but it always seems like the left side of my xjs is higher than the right when sitting in the drivers seat. But when I step out it seems okay. Is this just an illusion or would it be possible I need to repair some shocks or something?

depends on what side of the car your "Drivers side" is

 

left hand drive.

 

So you are saying that the Driver's side with you in it, seems to be higher than the passenger side with no one sitting there?

Odd to say the least.

You could very easily measure roof heights, wheel arch clearances..... with a broom handle and a tape measure.
