Default Parts car value

What's the most you'd pay for a running parts car? I'm looking at a high mileage 92 Coupe and I'm trying to justify the price. It's not $500! I'd immediately steal the engine harness and slowly sell the rest. Interior is shot, tail lights are good, headlights are good, but is anything else valuable?

If it's not $500 is it $5000. Hard to guess the answer to your question.

Runners in need of heavy love are common here in the US around $1500-$2500. But I've seen non-runners in need of serious help ask &2500-$4500.

I wouldn't drop more than $2k on a parts car running and rolling. Engine and tranny in place. Too many to choose from.

In ontario they are rarely "parts" cars, but cheap ones that need love go for $1000-$3000. I'm hoping to get a cheap one.

you can easily justify parting it out if you have time. On kijiji I've seen jaguar center caps for $100, engine for $450. Panels and doors could go for $150 if in decent shape. Lots of stuff to salvage if they are in decent condition.

I just bought a parts car for $700. Complete, no rust, locked up engine. Anything $1000 or less seems reasonable if the body parts are useable.
