Petrol pump making loud whining noise

Hi Leo

If you had put 12 Volts directly on the Pump, then it would have run Continuously and not in 3 second bursts, as the Timer would have been out of the mix altogether.

Not sure how much luck you will have finding that.
l am pretty sure the original pump will be a bosch pump and if labeled Lucas will still be a bosch with a label stuck on.

I know. I was too lazy to take things apart in the boot to connect the pump directly. It took maybe 15 minutes, no problem. I was just happy I noticed it before filling the tank completely...

You got there that's the main thing, though I guess there's a possibility that continuous operation of the ON/OFF timer relay

'could' have resulted in you having to buy a new one.
