pre he no spark
Hi i have just got my 77 back together after replacing the water pump / thermostats, and she wont start. I have fuel but no spark i have taken a lead direct from the coil to an old plug and given it the crank test, nothing there.
Any ideas? have i bumped a sensor? i was running great before the water pump project.

I have zero pre-HE experience.
But......
Go back and retrace your steps. You've almost certainly disturbed some elderly wiring along the line. That's not a criticism; it's almost unavoidable. Happens to all of us. It gets very brittle with age and heat.

Thanks Doug, I got it running but only briefly I suspect my ignition amp is on the way out or I have a poor connection at the ballast resistor, I had to disconnect it to remove my radiator. Or like you say I may have damaged a brittle cable when I removed it. I will have a deeper look soon
