Try this.
1993-94 XJ6 cars:
1. Turn ignition key ON.
2. Turn security (valet) switch OFF
3. Turn ignition key OFF.
4. Turn security switch ON.
5. Cycle security system switch ON/OFF rapidly 4 times (within 5 seconds).
6. Press each transmitter so a total of 5 confirmations are heard.

Hi Allan,
My '94 XJS V12 does not have a security switch. Two remotes came with the car but only one works. The other one had a dead battery which I replaced but it still does not work. Do the remotes loose the programing when the battery goes dead? If you know how to program this model, I could try to get it working. Thanks for your time.

Yes Jaguar removed the security switch in the 94MY so you and I are out of luck

The wiring for the switch is still available though, it is under the center console. Here is a link to a thread made by Spikepaga. He links to a video he made showing how to connect the switch. It is easy to do and should get you sorted provided the remote is actually working!!
