The ROM instructions seemed clear but the illustrations are different than my car. When I removed the rear heatshield, a reinforcing plate is revealed (see photo), and I don't see it mentioned in the the ROM. Is this removed as well?

Also do the intermediate heatshields have to be removed as per the ROM? The front screw by the Cat doesn't look accessible without removing the cats, and I don't remember having to remove them when I did the trans mount.

Any other tips on prop shaft removal, and u-joint replacement are most welcome (I know of Greg's Safe and Sane method for removing the trans mount and am about to tackle that).

I figured out both questions. Yes you remove the reinforcing/protective plate, and no you don't have to remove that screw by the Cat, with the other screws removed you have enough play to get the trans mount out.
