Default 87 XJ12 driveshaft.. can I take out just half?

On an 87 XJ12 is it possible to remove just half the driveshaft and not disturb the center support bearing? Kinda looks like I could disconnect from rear of transmission and slide it out. Let me know

the split drive shaft has alignment marks so it goes back to original balanced position, what is the project for needing to drop the drive shaft?

Turned out I didn’t need to remove it. There’s plenty of room. Doing a transmission rebuild.
