Default Proper thermostats

I was wondering if anyone here has up to date links to proper length thermostats for the XJS? I tried to order some online...not sure if I should name the supplier but they were garbage and didn't even have the little pin hole thing at the top.

I know about that post thats how I figured out my thermostats I ordered where junk. I can't seem to find anything for the proper sized part aside from Australian ebay listings...even the UK would be closer and cheaper to order from.

I always have an extra set on my shelf. Just replaced the passengers side a few months ago.

Not even that hard for me. We Aussies are a "special lot".

Dayco USA, ask for DT18A, stats.

Dayco Products

Should be plenty of Dayco supplies/resellers all over the upper hemisphere.

OK, you're asking here to *buy* the correct thermostats.

Terrys Jag, as SS mentioned, SNG Barrat, or probably any of the usual Jag suppliers, or the local Jag dealer. Just make sure to specifically ask for the EBC3576 Jaguar part number, Jaguar packaging.

You'd think so, Grant, but it appears that Dayco distribution schemes are different for us Yanks. I wasn't able to find that part number anywhere. It appears that Dayco does not sell thermostats in the USA. The webpage doesn't mention thermostats anywhere and that part number doesn't come up when searched.

Bugga.

Now I learnt something, thanks for that.

What are the brands you have available in the aftermarket world?

Gates and Stant are the most common but many franchise-type parts shops sell various Brand-X types as well.

The Gates and Stant have the bypass disc but never seem to have the jiggle pins (or even the relief hole). I don't know if they are the correct length, either. I might buy one just to check! if the length is OK it wouldn't be any big deal to drill the steam relief hole

XKSUnlimited xks.com provided me with two proper-length and jiggle pin equipped t-stats. they carry the correct parts.

Now, if they'd sent me two of the same brand I'd have been happier, happier still if they'd both been the same temp spec!

It's way too hard to get good parts today.

So you..don't recommend them for thermostats? Terrys Jags has minimum 25 dollar order but they have better prices.

Id just suggest speaking with an actual person whenever possible regardless of who you order from. I've ordered the same t-stats from others who shipped me some weirdo stat with no rear bypass block off.

Im basically saying that you order your parts and take your chances. If you're in a hurry for them I'd order from more than one vendor, return whichever is more expensive or wrong part, hope one gets it right and eat the shipping / return costs.

Yeah, but at $13x2 you meet that minimum. May as well get two.

Its the Jaguar brand part, so there should be zero worries as with the others.
