I removed the rad & water pump recently; reason being I wanted to make sure everything was 100%.
Can anyone provide opinion on the following pictures - particularly the red gelly-like stuff that was behind the waterpump going to the LH bank - is that fairly typical? Looking beyond that stuff & into the block, it looks fairly clean, but i'm not sure what's normal.
The radiator, at least externally, looks ok, but there are those white marks where the fins connect. Do you think the rad shot? I put a cheap bore scope down the hose connections; the internals look absolutely fine with no buildup (see pics) - maybe too clean for it being the original radiator.
Somewhere aalomg thr lines, someone mixed antifreezes. That is crystalisation, as the mixtures mix and react.
Give the engine a good rinse with fresh tap water. Fill it nor ally, drive a while with it, then empty. Refill, drive, empty, refill,... You'll get rid of that stuff easily. It just needs to 'dilute' itself.
