Replacing the door handles
Hey all,
So I purchased an '82 xjs (lump), and its beautiful i've loved this vehicle since i first laid eyes on one. Its got a few issues but nothing that keeps it from getting me around I already got all of the lighting issues squared away, but the door handles that are currently on the car have no key at all. That is to say, I cannot lock the car doors. The previous owner supplied me with a brand new in box set of door handles with a key, he said he had not installed them because it was...difficult... Upon inspecting it for myself i determined that he was correct. Has anyone dealt with this before? It seems impossible to get to the door handle without removing the window... I hope I'm wrong because I'm no DIY master...yet
Thanks

Difficut, yes, but not necessarily to remove the glass.
It's been so many years I can't give you an exact step-by-step, sorry. I have small hands and used small tools...and did some swearing. That much I DO remember :-)
Hopefully someone will chime in with some specifics.
Cheers

Thanks for the input Doug. I'll get some small hands, see what small tools I can get, grab a fistful of four letter words and go at it again.
Any additional advice is still appreciated!
