Replacing wood trim
Hi Guys
I recently purchased new wood trim for my 1990 XJS 3.6 coupe (the piece round the air vent in the centre of the dash).
Can anybody tell me the proper way to remove the old piece? I tried gently pulling it but it doesnt seem to pop out and I don't want to break it.
Thanks

not really a ' proper way '
but the best way i found was to drop open the glove box, and get a long thin screwdriver and push it in behind the wood trim from the open glove box
this will pop the two nearest spring clips, then gently pry from inside the opening round the vent
the remaining two spring clips are at the far end of the vent opening, and will take some moderate controlled force to pop them
easy as that
