Rest Alarm after Emergency Alarm Disarm
I have a 1996 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Convertible. Car was on alarm with Red Console Light Flashing all normal. Then Remote Transmitter Lock/Unlock Device doesn't work. (Battery or?). Followed the Emergency Alarm Disarm Instructions in Jag Security System Manual. Full Alarm didn't go off, but Red Console Light is now "on" solid and the Car won't start. Car is somehow locked out from starting.
Suggestions???

Although I have not had this problem myself the very first thing that I would do, would be to put a new battery in the Key Fob.
If that doesn't work, then you could try disconnecting and re-connecting the Cars Battery, which either may or may not re-set the Car Alarm/Immobiliser.
Then try the key again.

Rest Alarm after Emergency Alarm Disarm
Battery in the remote FOB is not the problem. According to Jaguar's Security System Manual for my car, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery before disarming the Alarm will just reset the Alarm.
What I did "that worked" was to manually lock and unlock the Car using the Driver's Door Keyway say 6 times. Then go into Car and turn Key "on" to position 11 (2) without trying to start the car.
Wait a short time and the Red Alarm light on Console went "out" and I could the start the car

But thanks for the thought. I will now go dig through the harness and look for those wires! Maybe they were pulled loose.
