the left bank gets its idle air from the AAV, which is routed through the airbox on that side. the right side gets its air from the corssover.

open up those gaping throttles and i guarantee youll feel the force. lol

I believe its a timing reference hole, so that you dont have to take the cap off to see where the rotor is pointing. the vacuum hose sticks out of the side of the metal diaphragm, underneath the distributor cap, and is pointing towards your 6a spark plug

There is a hole on the top of the dist cap for a vac hose and another on the side for an air inlet. These distibutors will build up gasses inside and will ignite explosively and blow the cap off. The vac lines just suck any fumes out before it reaches that point.

ok heres what i see, underneath the dist cap pointing towards the windshield is a white piece of plastic sticking out as if a hose should be covering it, now the loose hose also has a white plastic fitting coming off of it. im not sure if there was a little piece of hose in between to fit the two together or not i dont see any piece of hose down in there.

That the distributor vent hose.

There should be two small hoses to the distributor. One goes to the AAV hose to provide a small amount of vacuum. The other goes over towards the left fender and has a small air filter attached....looks like a small fuel filter.

Anyhow, the vacuum draws filtered air into and through the distributor for venting

Cheers

The one on the side had a short line on it and a small filter like a fuel filter on the end. The port on the cap has a vac line.

Check the vac lines underneath the throttle body. You might have accidently knocked one off!

Directly under the butterfly on each side you should at least have ports. Mine is an 83, and my parts manifolds are 85 and they both have ports.

I don't think you can see them without a mirror or something, and it would definitely be easier with the airboxes removed.
