Depends on the offset.

8" will fit on the front with 20mm offset

9" will fit on the rear with IIRC 35mm offset

Other thing to consider is the design of the suspension isn't designed for rims that tall, the car will have a much greater tendency to tramline, or follow the grooves and ruts in the road than with smaller rims. 16" is generally considered as tall as you want to go to avoid that effect.

My car tramlines with 245-50/16, I do think the 16" look good on the car.

I'm running factory rims on my 94, but using 225-60/16. I think the taller and narrower tire helps avoid tramlining.

I really like the look of the later 5 spoke 16" rims.

Yes the narrower tyres will have less tendency to tramline.

My rims are 16X8 BBS originally for an XJ40 with +33 offset. It is illegal in Australia to use any type of spacer (unless it was manufacturer fitted) To change the offset of the front rims I had a 13mm spacer machined and fixed into the back of the rim with CS screws, thus becoming part of the rim. This is a much safer way than 13mm spacers, and at 20mm offset my front tyres do not rub even on full lock.
