Rust around widescreen celebration 4.0 1996
Hi
I have a rust blister,at base of windscreen on passenger side
I have seen a few months ago pics of this and when windscreen was removed a lot more rust was evident
I stupidly didn't retain the link and now I can't find this on the site
Would anyone be able to help with this as I want to send related pics to a garage so I can better explain what I want to get treated
Thanks guys
Barry

This is a notorious rust spot on the facelifts, and on some cars the metal has completely disappeared from underneath. Nothing that cannot be welded, though your repairer will have to make up some pieces to weld in.
Part of the problem is that the design allows roof water to drain down behind the A post trim to the scuttle/windscreen area, and then it has nowhere to go. FWIW, I suggest after repairs, you fully gunk up the gap at the top of the A post trim so water cannot get down there any more. And protect the A post itself and the scuttle under the windscreen trim with loads of stuff too.

The August 2012 edition, page 70. If you are a JEC member it is on the site. If not, ring them up and see if you can buy a backnumber? Really good illustrations which will show your bodyshop exactly what they have to do. And that will give you the shock of your life!!
