Saw an XJS Today, the first one I've seen in 5 Years!

Lots of hooting and waving and all that kind of Stuff.

It was a 1995 (M) Coupe and probably a 4.0L

You probably haven't seen anybody else in an XJS because YOU OWN ALL OF THEM!

Always a treat to see a XJS out on the road. Seems like I see one once a year or so out being driven if that. Funny thing is when you are always looking at yours up close you can forget what a great stance the XJS has at a little distance. The car just has a presence about it and and reminds me why it is so often called " THE BIG CAT ".

Of course Orangeblossom, when you own all the XJS' in your region the only way you will see one out being driven is when you loan one of yours out to a friend or relative-LOL!

this is one of the reasons i instigated a monthly ' breakfast meet ' at a local airfield with a proper sit down coffee shop / cafe ,

as its way to easy to say its too much hassle to get the car out today

so in any weather we drive to this airfield at Kemble in Gloucestershitre , some from over a 100 miles away and have a totally informal meet-up with other Jaguar owners of any marque

this is through the JEC , but any jag owner is welcome

this was last saturday ,

IMG_1927 by MyPix on Talk Photography

and we meet at the same place on the last saturday of EVERY month

IMG_1707 by MyPix on Talk Photography

also in the rain , lol

IMG_1607 by MyPix on Talk Photography

but what i'm trying to say is, you got to get out there and meet up with other owners to enhance the ownership and driving of your car

i also say that you don't even have to bring your Jag to enjoy meeting other Jag owners

OB,

If you're ever near Kent, come and drive past my house. You can see an XJS every day!

BB has done a great job in setting up that breakfast meet for the JEC. I realise that membership of clubs is not everyone's cup of tea, but clubs and online forums are great communities for owners to chat and get together both online and through such informal meets.

It is true that even in the last few years, seeing an XJS on the road is becoming an increasingly rare spectacle. So much so that my daughter will use her phone to send me a photo of any XJS she sees when travelling to school on the bus. I've only had 3 photos in the last year from her!

I only ever see converts and cabrios... No coupé at all... Unless I look into my garage

Always pleasant to see though! And most times, I give the drivers a "thumbs up"

Hi Bill Love it!

Sadly no longer true, I'm now reduced to 4 Convertibles and 2 Coupes!

The other 4 just had to go but when I had all 10 of them all running at once, you could hear the Roar from the other end of the road!

While I was writing that post I was thinking, this won't get any replies!

But you are so spot on with your observation, there is just something about the look that cannot be put into words.

When I was out the other day, I had a 'Pro Photographer' ask if I would mind if he took a few Pics.

With one of the most amazing Cameras I have ever seen and after watching him at work, I now know what I was doing wrong.

Everything........!

Hi Paul

Be Careful what you wish for, I've got relatives in Chilam, so I could be parked outside your house for a while!

Hi Daim

This Guy kind of took me by Surprise, I had to do a double take when I saw him in my rear view mirror.

And when he started hooting, I couldn't believe how loud the sound from that was.

So I just waved back, much to the amusement of other Motorists, who are as we speak are probably 'still dining out' on telling their mates that they have seen not

one but two XJS's both together on the same day.

Actually I've got to correct myself. I saw an XJ-S parked up in Bremen with "FOR SALE" in the screen. Really poor looking model 1989 US-Import with EU headlights. Interior: shot. Body: shot. Engine started: ran in about 9 cylinders - at it's max. So I SAW an XJ-S coupé but I wouldn't say it made me happy. I just know where I can find some headlights!

Default Saw Another XJS To Day! (Unbelievable!)

Even more unbelievable, it was the Same XJS that I saw the other day!

I was coming up to a roundabout, with nothing in sight to my right (uk)

But something just told me to wait a little bit longer, then suddenly out of

nowhere the very same XJS came round the Corner.

(M reg) Green Coupe.

How 'Spooky' is that!

things are different in USA,especially in Austin Texas, i see many more Ferrari than XJS, and quite a few Aston Martin, i'm gonna say around 10-1 vs. the XJS!

lotta rich hi-tech engineer types here, and dont wanna waste time fiddling with an old XJS!

makes me sad and irritated, they call XJS a poor mans car!! Darn-damn.

I wouldn't describe it quite like that, its much more the affordable 'Supercar' that seems to pass everyone by in more ways than one!

But you are right.

We are a 'Special Breed' who absolutely don't give up on those occasions when our Cars seem to throw up unexpected problems.
