Default seat belts??????

My 1988 XJS's driver's side chest belt mouse is dead. Also, the clasp part on the belt is broken so that it no long connects to either the mouse or the temporary pillar flange thingy. I've been told that neither the mouse mechanism nor the belt and reel assembly is currently available anywhere. I've checked the web and not found anything but aftermarket competition belts. I may go that way.....
Any thoughts or sources or suggestions?
By the way the car is running beautifully.

It is true that Jaguar warrantees the seat belts for life. Problem!!!!!! Both the belts with the retractors and the mouse motors are on indefinite nationwide back order. No one is making them and there are no stockpiles of them.
So what next??????

Time to search the salvage yards. We sold out of them years ago.

Default more on belts

I have checked every Jaguar part source I can find. I have contacted a number of sources of used parts. When it gets down to the "mouse belts", they just aren't available.
I would welcome any leads or sources.....
Can a "mouse belt" car be changed over to the shoulder belt system?
How hard are the competition style belts to install?
(I think I'd like them better than a mouse belt anyway.)

Talking Update!!!!!!

Jaguar is now stocking the automatic shoulder/chest belts!!!!! They installed mine free after I went to Jaguar customer service and wrote the NTSA about Jaguar not following up on their warranty.
Jag. is also promising to have a mouse replacement.....
Thanks for all of the feedback and help.

Both of mine also got stuck. Turned out there was some crap in the driverside track that was causing it to bind. A quick cleaning and some WD40 fixed it. The other I just locked it in the down position and pulled the fuse out so that it won't move again. I called my local dealer and they didnt' have any parts to do the warrenty so I haven't bothered to call them again.

I check out the tracks. Would be nice if it were an easy fix. Keep an eye out as Jag is promising to get replacement parts made. When? Who knows.....?
