Default Seat color code

Gents..and or ladies, I need some help. I have a 1996 XJS with the cream colored celebration (embossed) seats with contrasting piping.

I need to do a leather repair as my bolster has a tear.

Does anyone know the correct color code for the cream leather?

As another option,
Does anyone have a used leather seat bottom and or back, drivers or passenger side from a restoration they'd be willing to sell?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bob

I believe Paul's Jaguar in Florida could have some replacement leather covers, if you're interested in that.

There's also a place I found, but have not yet used, Lseat.com You'd have to ask for samples, but they do piping, embossing, etc. Overall, it seems like a pretty good deal for the price.

I've recently ordered replacement seat covers for my wife's Honda Pilot. That's basically going to be the guinea pig to base their quality on.

OK.. how about the 3 number code for the 1996 XJS cream with coffee interior?

I have no tags on this car to indicate interior color.

Anybody out there with a 1996 cream interior that can help me out?

Looking at my book, the 1996 interior leather color options are as follows:
Cream
Oatmeal
Coffee
Parchment
Nimbus Grey
Regatta Blue
Warm Charcoal

Maybe this will help:

So what I'm hearing is that the color code is 1996 cream.

Not NDR or something like that?

Yes? That would explain why it is so hard to look up the 3 digit code....

There are codes.... for instance, my coffee color is SDC

If you go through JDHT, pick an interior product that would have to be color coded, and look it up. If it helps, look up a coffee colored product first, find SDC, and then find the color you're looking for and whatever the letters in place of SDC are, that's your color code.

Go find other colored products and do a check, just to makes sure the letters are consistent!

People! The carpet color (in this case, coffee) is not the same as the leather interior color code (cream is NDR). My car is also Coffee+Cream. Carpet color is not listed in the door jamb sticker, only the leather Code.

Hitch,

As mentioned Cream is NDR. But do you actually have "Cream" rather than another colour that "looks" like Cream?

Do you not have the usual commission stickers on the car to indicate paint and seat colours? Have a look under the bonnet above the LH headlamp. You may see a sticker there which indicates the colour codes.

Cheers

Paul

+1. If you haven't found the VIN plate or sticker, either you haven't yet looked in correct place to find it . . . or someone has been "at" your car to intentionally, perhaps illegally, remove same and obscure its true identity. Use JTIS to identify form and location according to original market when new. Jaguar Cars of Coventry varied both form and placement but you can be sure that no car left the factory with it missing.

The 3 letter codes for paint and trim should be checked carefully . . . earlier years, the codes seemed to chop and change even across identical colours . . . later years, identical codes were used for changing colours.

Cheers,

Ken

The paint and trim codes are inside the driver's door on a sticker....
