does anyone happen to know the relative weight differences between the pre-89 and post 89 seats? post 89 had larger side bolsters, but anything else in there that could make them significantly heavier?

also, i've read there were adjustments to the tracks at some point, does anyone have information as to when the track sizes changed?

 

The post 89 seats (actually in some markets a year or two earlier) are "Recaro" style, and seemed to me when I took some out, noticeably heavier than the earlier seats, with thicker backs. The short pillars welded to the floor that their runners bolt to are about 1 and 1/2 inches closer together than before. Thus the seats are not interchangeable without some cutting and welding to the floorpan fixings.

At the same time the aircon unit was changed to the Delanaire 111 and the column switches were changed from the original Jaguar ones to Ford derived, thicker-looking ones. Various electrical systems and connector quality were allegedly improved too.
