they also offer a stroker kit for the 5.3 to 5958cc so a satge II stroked would put out what?
Then you will need to budget to lower the CR, the 6.0L heads have larger chambers around the exhaust valve, this makes these heads flow better than the 5.3L heads.

If you want to stroke I would advise buying a 6.0L engine and either freshen it up or as I will be doing shortly rebuild my original engine with the 6.0L parts.

Clean up the intake ports, 3 angle valve cut, ceramic coat pistons and exhaust manifold. New down pipes and port the exhaust manifold. 450hp should be attainable with 500ftlb+ of torque.

warrjon i dont think you can make a Jag V12 make more torque than HP, most of the mods you mention are all about hi-rpm power!

this is from actual experience with the Jag V12

hahahaha

sure you can if it will only spin to 4726.8 rpm... with 500lbs/ft of torque

but at 5252 rpm it should have 500 hp....

if my math is correct...

The stock 6.0L in Aussie trim made 325hp and 360ftlb
The 5.3L made 296hp and 330ftlb

These are from the Jaguar ROM

Remember the torque peak is around 3500rpm

So I made an assumption on 450hp and 500ftlb. I know 400hp is easily attainable and with a few additional mode 450hp should be close.

This maybe so in a US spec engine but the Aussie engine had more torque than HP according to the specification.

I guess we'll see once I have my engine built. I know it will be nowhere near a Ford or Chev V8 but I like the V12 and am not looking now to make huge HP. Just a nice touring with the occasional blast.

BTW I should have my 4L60e back in 2 weeks, its being built now, Xmas plan is to replace the TH400

I have also been playing with my MegaSquirt, Just ordered the new simulator . Phase 1 is to get the 5.3 running on fuel only then getting ignition running. Hoping I can get it running on the stock Marelli trigger so I do not have to change the trigger wheel.

Once I have my stock engine running on the MS I will then rebuild and can re-tune for the 6.0L

Ron have you had experience with HFP injectors? I am thinking of using these, much cheaper than having my original injectors cleaned, they want over $500 to clean my injectors.

Warren, this maybe a little of topic but I made my own Injector cleaner out of some old air line fittings, a couple of small spade connectors a push button switch and a 9v battery. Using compressed air and some solvents at 29psi, then flushed with fresh fuel made a world of difference to my injectors. I sprayed them into a clear PET bottle to see what was happening, it worked so well I donated it to a mechanic friend who now swears buy it. I still have the bottle here with all crap that I washed out of them.

warrjon, the injectors pictured are Dodge/Chrysler ,will they fit your fuel rails?

and i dont think anyone here is gonna make 450hp much less 500hp ,except the super modded engines pictured earlier.

will you dyno and show results with us,when you are up and running?

I have measured my 6.0L injectors and these are a direct fit, same length and O ring size. High Z but with the MS2 no problems.

I know a guy here who put a 6.0L in his XJS Targa car and was making 400HP with only exhaust, intake and ECU.

The engine will be built for torque not peak HP, so I don't care if I make 390hp or 450hp. I have one of the best Jaguar V12 engine builders providing advice, so I think I have good chance of building a strong engine.

Yes I will have the car dynoed and share the results. I have a lot of work to do and a limited budget so it will take me a while. It's going to cost me the best part of $10K on top of the 6.0L purchase price, and this is doing most of the work myself.

will you use an engine dyno or a chassis dyno, either way we can figure it out, sounds exciting, always love to hear an engine doing it thing!

just reread you will have the car dynod, great.

Chassis dyno, engine dyno would be too difficult.

The 6.0L injector rail has O ringed injectors, no more rubber hose. This opens up a multitude of different injectors. I have decided to buy 12 new HFP injectors, these are 4 nozzle with better atomization.

Sounds like there was a lot of good refinements on the 6.0l, may have to keep my eyes open for one for my car, but then what do I do with the x2 5.3's I have now?

yes katoh, the Ford/Jag V12s are a much improved engine, they had the money for some R&D.

some say ford used cast crankshafts in later yrs, but i dont think we need any better,Jag V12s never had crank problems anyway(oiling probs.YES).

and if the word gets around 5.3s wont have much value, i personally scrapped 3 complete engines, got $75. dollars for the bunch, and cried to see them go into a large shredding machine.

so an O-ring top and bottom, very good, may types of injectors can be used!

that is what i did on my v12 20yrs ago but made custom alumnium rails,6.0L rails were not available then!

at that time i had my race shop, and owned a nice fuel injector flow bench(made in Australia), very handy machine.

test for injector flow in CCs at any variable speed (RPM), adjustable pressure, along with adjustable pulse width.

bear in mind just because an injector squirts fuel doesnt mean they are all equal, think about if one or two are down 10cc, those cylinders could run lean at hi output!

and i have seen new injectors not balanced evenly!

and i could show some , that hi pressures and hi rpm,the injector could go into partial lock up, 1/2 open,1/2 closed, and instant lean, at 50% fuel flow!

altho i'm sure you will never reach that level of performance where hydraulic phenomener can occur!

ques; when you say 4 nozzle injector, or did you mean 4 hole injector?

If you are interested Norman Lutz usually has one lying around, I will email him and see what he has.

Yes the 6.0L engine is a world away from the 5.3L HE. Buying a whole engine allows you to rebuild the new one then swap over. I want to keep my original engine number so I will be rebuilding my original engine.

Ron yes I mean 4 hole

sorry warrjon, brain fade, torque is usually higher than HP.

note to self; be sure brain is engaged before putting fingers in motion!!!!!

depends on the rpm.... at 5252rpm they are equal....

now if you have restrictive breathing an a bad torque curve that is falling off as rpms rise you could have more peak torque below 5252 than the HP you have at 5252 rpm

the intakes really could be opened up as they say.... that would solve that!

HP = torque * RPM / 5252

HINCE WHEN RPM = 5252 HP = TORQUE
