Sold..1992 XJS..$29000
Here the ad and web site for the 1992 XJS convertible that just sold for $29900. When you get to their site, go to sold cars and enter 1992 XJS and the ad will come up.

My 1992 XJS Convertible looks exactly like the one that sold for $29900. The only difference with my 1992 is 73000 miles and Color of paint. My interior is same color and in same condition.
If you can get $29,000 for your car, with 70,000+ miles on it, I would do it in a heartbeat.
You can replace it with three identical ones tomorrow.
I'm not sure that the listed price is indeed the sold price. You have no idea what that was sold/traded in for.
If you could get $19,000 for it, I would still do it. Immediately.
Troll around craigslist and eBay and see what $10,000 can buy you, nevermind the $20,000....

That dealer always seems to get top dollar and they are known to deal with nice cars and are very reputable.
This seems like a nice XJS which is documented with low miles. I highly doubt any XJS with higher miles is going to bring anything near this price. Original unrestored lower mileage cars always bring higher prices...

Vee is right, this is not what the car sold for, just what they listed it for. I know these guys and I would be absolutely amazed if they got more than $15k for the car, probably closer to $10k
I reckon the chances of selling a 92 for $29k are between slim and none……….. and I think slim just left town

It is as perfect as you could find, but sadly I agree with the others...... that is not a $29k car.
There is a 6.0 96 with 22k miles coming and going on craigslist right now for $17k, which is still too high, sadly
There was a 62k mile XJR-S for sale recently..... black convertible.... one of 50..... $19k. It sold. Not sure for how much though. I offered the guy 15k site unseen and he wouldnt take it..... said he had a better offer. Sure enough, next day the listing was gone, sob, sob

I wonder if this is actually a recent sale. There are no dates indicated, posted or sold. Is it possible that this is an old, historical transaction where the price would make more sense?
Either way, this car looks brand new, no matter where you look and the miles follow its appearance. As of right now, $17,000 wouls be max, IMO.
Cheers,

But we have no idea how much the car actually sold for.
Although it is a "sold inventory" list the prices shown are obviously the "asking price" from the "for sale" list.
Either that or EVERY one of the hundreds of cars they've sold had a final selling price ending with exactly "900". $75,900 or $35,900 or $115,900 or, in the case of the XJS, $29,900.
Yeah, right !
Cheers

I know this outfit, they are fairly close. I will just about guarantee that the selling price was a tiny fraction of the asking price. Like the tv shows, it probably went down something like this.
Punter: " Nice Jag, how much?
Salesguy: "29.9"
Punter: "Can't do that, how about 6?"
Salesguy: "No way I can do 6 man, how about 20?"
Punter: "Nah, that's still way high, how about 8?"
Salesguy: "Well your moving in the right direction, how about 12?"
Punter: "how about we meet in middle, 10?"
Salesguy: "Hold out your hand, Deal!!"
That dealership would not price it for $29000 and sell it for $10K. Not going to happen. I would bet it sold much closer to the list price then $10k... I'll call them tomorrow and let u know what they say.
Guess we're not going to find out what that car sold for...
