Default springs

Hi all can you cut the front coil springs the xjs?

Peter,

You can do whatever you want, nothing stopping anyone doing anything.

I question the reason. My '85 is low enough as standard. That chin spoiler catches on some of our dumb speed humps now, and any lower would be equally as dumb.

Before someone asks, YES, the car is at CORRECT hieght, with spring packers duly fitted at rebuild time to achieve this.

IF, on the other hand it is for track purposes, cut away.

Kings springs do make a lowered spring for them, or did, both front and rear, and I have NEVER used them on an XJ-S, only on the old S Type, and no issues (standards used).

Thank you for the info grant I'll look into the king springs, that sounds like the appropriate and safest way.

Too many road hazards to lower a car from stock ride height and the heartburn from the changes in suspension geometry just isn't worth any potential "Kool Factor". Just my humble opinion...
