Anyone do an H&R Spring Install themselves?
frickinjag and I are going to both be installing our H&R springs at my house next wknd and just wondered if anyone else here has done this install and if they have any pointers or discovered anything interesting during the install. also, what was your rear camber spec before after install? tnx!

I have done several spring replacements, and all are about the same and equally frustrating. Just remove the shock and spring, use a spring compressor, then unbolt the top hat.
Rear camber on my bmw z3 went from 2.0 to around 4.0. Had to have a weld in kit put in. The jag rear end is different setup so will take the camber differently, but I wouldn't be surprised if you increased at least 1.5.

Did the fronts last night I used the adamesh 25mm drop make sure you have a torx 60 bit available and caution do not use the cheap leg design spring compressor I have never seen so much tension on a spring before very very dangerous
Results -
Totally eliminated the spongey feel of the standard spring
It sits a lot more flatter and stable through the corners
No continuous bounce after going over speed humps it's actually more comfortable than stock spring
Minimised the notorious understeer issues associated with the xk it goes where you point it now
Stock spring guard to ground - 720mm
Adamesh (eibech) guard to ground - 700mm
With only a 20mm drop it still looks stock I only wanted the springs to improve handling I didn't want a beautiful vehicle ruined by going too low which looks ridiculous on our vehicles
Would highly recommend the adamesh spring plus they are progressive force I guess that's why the comfort was improved
Photos on way

I highly recommend the springs. Wow what an improvement.
If anyone is concerned about spacer clearances. The 25mm with springs will rub in the rear on 20's. Multistrada and I are running 25mm on front and 20mm on rear with no problems. I have the 20's and He has the 19's. Both look incredible. What an aggressive change.
I'll drop the car off at Jag shortly for a camber comparison before and after.

Derek Fricke
