so i had my xjs out, and i spun a rod bearing, havent gotten the crank case apart yet to see what was the cause. but i will need the following parts if posible from anyone on here, for work i will be doing while the motor is out.

Crankshaft & rotating assembly (possibly)

gasket kits.

Rear end/ differential for rebuild with 3.54 gear

youre definitely gonna want to replace whatever rod that spun the bearing. so youll need at least 1 rod.

You won't need to replace the crank, although if you could find an EN40 forged from a 6.0L it would make life easier. These are even harder than the 5.3 crank. Be aware though that the later 6.0L used a cast crank.

You can offset grind see my post in your other thread.

Just remembered Ian's car take a look at this

Chev 6.0" I beam you will need to do some machine work on the bigends to narrow them and small end for a floating pin.

something like these they support 500hp in 8 so 750hp in 12

i have used welded crankshafts before , some work out fine,as long as you dont stress them, or RPM them, but others have cracked into pieces after a short time of racing use.

some times, in the welding process, very small heat cracks are done,BUT hidden under the welding layer. so magnafluxing it doesnt show.

an early 6.0L crank forged steel, would be my chioce, again realisticly, a good later 6.0L cast crank would more than do the job,FORD knows a lot about nodular casting processes, lotsa yrs at it!

and all&all get ready to spend some serious MONEY, you know,,custom pistons, full set of good rods, good engine bearings sets, ETC.

last but not least ,find out WHY the engine spun a bearing, you may have other problems that need to be addressed!
