Transmission issue
My 89 XJS will no longer downshift into 2nd when I manually move the lever. It also won't move down to 1st until I'm below about 10mph. Where should I start looking?

No manual downshift to 2nd: Its been years so don't take mine as the final word but I think there's a "servo apply pin" that may have broken
No downshift to 1st until 10 mph: Are you talking about a manual downshift? Hmmm. I think you should get that at more like 20-25 mph. Might be related to the other problem?
You're gonna have to at least partially open up the trans for a look see.
