The transmission light appeared on my 1995 4.0L. Car has 155,000 miles. The car stalled while driving it. Pulled over and starter turned but would'nt run. 10 minutes later it started normally. Battery is fully charged. Check engine light appears & turns off. Trans shifts normally. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

 

I seem to recall that somewhere, someone told me that one of things that would cause that is the car going into a "safety mode", although the car is actually supposed to stall. It is usually caused, or so I have been told, by bad gas or a dirty fuel system. You could try some fuel injector cleaner as a precautionary measure, in any case it won't hurt. Also, whenever possible use a high quality gasoline. I would also check for 'junk' in the fuel filter. Good luck.
