Default Trim codes

Hi, the visors clips are broken in my car so thought I'd look for new ones but can't work out the colour. My trim code is CD yet all lists of codes I've seen don't mention CD. I've attached a picture of the plate to make sure I'm reading it right!
Thanks

Yeah I got the magnolia for the leather, but I thought the the two letter code was for the other bits of trim? Basically my choices of colours to buy for the clips are coffee and barley
Paint and Trim Codes shows a two letter code for barley but not coffee. It could be something else entirely that I can't find clips for though!

Both Paint and Trim and Trim codes are 3 letter.

Paint Code = NDP (Glacier White)
Trim Code = AEM (Magnolia)

Beware this refers to the primary trim colour (seats etc) and small trim items can be a complimentary or contrasting colour in some trim schemes.

Hmmmm, it seems that the problem for the 2 digit trim parts codes on the chart is that they are for the XJ6/12. I've looked around and cannot find a trim parts code to go with the Magnolia interior. (This is for the trim of the seats, door rolls, carpet edges etc)

Perhaps call one of the companies that specialize in replacement of interior trim? In the US I'd call Paul's Jaguar but not sure about the UK. Perhaps Gliptone? They manufacture seat dyes and I would think would know?

Cheers,

Allan

Default 2 letter trim codes

Did anyone ever find out what the 2 letter trim codes stand for?

My X200 has the following codes:-

Paint = HGD (British Racing Green)

Trim = SDZ (Cashmere) & ER = ?

Thanks!

Hi there, I have a paint code MDZ which is Platinum Silver, then trim LEG which is Warm Charcoal - Then another code DW....I have no idea what this 2 letter code relates to after the interior, no matter how hard I've googled there is nothing that I could find that relates to a secondary 2 letter code. Attached is my sticker on the A-pillar. If you ever find out please do let me know...cheers from New Zealand.

Platinum Silver with Warm Charcoal interior. DW =???

The two letter colour is the trimmed colour where an item of trim such as the seat has a secondary colour such as black piping, the three characters are the base colour, the two characters the trim colour. The codes CD and DW do not appear in my parts book but they will in somebodies.

An example for mine which is AEE - so base colour is Doeskin coloured leather.

The parts book lists a set of 2 character codes - I believe this all stopped with the facelifts but not certain
Under Scuttle Code LZ = Warm Charcoal
Seat Code XE = Doeskin
Carpets XF = Rattan
Door Casings XE = Doeskin
Rear Quarters XE = Doeskin
Flange Finishers PA = Black
Roof Lining ND = Limestone
A Posts XE = Doeskin

So your two letter code determines the secondary trim colours. Hope that makes sense.

For years, there's been a lot of misinformation and confusion amongst XJS owners about the 2-letter code that is stamped after the 3-letter seat trim code on the id label.

The 2-letter code is nothing to do trim colours. It indicates when the car was built.

Chris, the FG on your label indicates your car was built in June 1992.

Hope that helps

Paul

Thanks Paul,
Just out of interest, how does FG indicate June 1992?

I'm curious too - learn something new everyday - and looking back on my response my car has many two letter codes - none of which are on the plate and only in the parts book.

A= Jan, B, C, D, E, F = June
G = 1992 somehow?

Chris,

It's a slightly inconsistent system with some letters not being used but, Yes, F= June & G= 1992
