Any ideas?

Not without a LOT of fabrication work. Take a look at my blog I had to rebuild both my front and rear TWR bars, bought new and did not go near fitting took me at least a hundred hours work.

Hey Warren,

I will do that! I think it must look good, a bit like the facelift bumpers!

That is what I mean in the picture:

The chrome trim on the facelife is exactly that a trim, the chrome on the pre-facelift is not a trim but quite structural and bolts to skirt around the front of the car.

I have both my old bumper and the new TWR if you need pics.

The top of the chrome bumpers and the TWR bumpers are on the same level so you can not put the chrome on the top of the TWR bumper it will not fit under the lights and the bonnet would not open.

You could replace the bumpers with facelift, this will work.

Do I understand you correctly that the facelift bumpers will fit on an earlier XJS? Say, an 88?

Correct. There were very few changes to the front of the XJS, you might need to fabricate mounts if you can not get your hands on the facelift mounts.

The mounts are easy, if you take a look at my blog you will see I made mounts from a bit of aluminum tube and angle.

There is someone in the US that is making fiberglass Facelift front bumpers

I found it Jaguar XJS Bumper Cover

There is also these guys I didn't have any luck contacting them though
Just Jags Facelift

I've emailed these people several times but no response. UGH!!
I have found on ebay used front and rear bumpers usually needing a bit of repair. Passed on them since I didn't know if would fit.
I can definitely make mounts since my brother is a welder so bring em' on!!

Actually contacted the gentleman with the USA replacement front bumpers.
Unfortunately he says they would take far or much modification to use on my 88 than just brackets. He says ill need filler panels and there is an issue with the lower fender.
The twr kit is the only fit for my year according to him. I've found a kit in UK but just don't want to put that much into it after shipping. And I can't use the chrome trim from my car.

The facelift bars do fit. the mod I think he is talking about is the panels in front of the wheels yes you will need to modify the panels you have to fit. I have seen 3 XJS's here in Aus with the facelift bumpers installed.

It just depends on how much work you are prepared to undertake.
