Default XJS engine light question

Great morning to everyone. Had a question. My 1993 XJS drophead is in storage for the winter. My battery tender seems to have failed thus causing a dead battery. I had a rare sunny day hear in Seattle and decided to take the car out and give it some exercise. I had to jumpstart the car and since then the check engine light has stayed on. Car purrs its usual purr..nothing out of the ordinary except the check engine light. Just to be certain I went to hook the car up to OBD diagnostic reader however I cannot seem to find the connector..Now I have looked in the usual places (the bloody plug is probably staring me in the face and I not seeing it)...so I am asking you good fellas for some insight if you would.

A>) would a dead battery cause the check engine light to come on when it wasnt on when the car was parked.

B>) if its a simply reset procedure..what might I do to reset the light?

C>) and where is that bugger of a plug in for the OBD...

Thanks to all and CHEERS!

CROWNEWOURTH,

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Centre to to the XJS tech section.

You should get the answers here.
