Default v12 A/C ports

Working on my '87 XJS V-12.

I am converting the A/C to R-134. I bought a port conversion kit from the local auto parts store. The high side port adapter is fine. The low side seems to be a no go. I took the schraeder valve out of the low side port to be able to screw on the new adapter but for some reason it is not connecting. Try as I might it just won't connect up with the threads on the original port.

The low side port adapter is about 1 1/2" long and has a schraeder valve already in it.

Is there a special connector adapter for these I need to find?

Thanks

There are many versions of the conversion adapters. Some require the schrader valves removed and others use the valve installed as original location.

You will need to evaluate which one you have/need.

Try a different brand or kit?

The left side of the compressor is the low side, the right side that has the port on the small muffler is the high side. The low side always has the larger diameter hose.
