Default vacuum leaks

Hello i have to spare the results of my research to find my hard to start issue and the bad idle that was hunting between 500 to 1500 rpm. After trying to find if my AAF valve was working as it should It was not. I had to find a way to pinpoint all the leaks. What i did is i connected a SMOKE MACHINE on the intake trought a cap on the end. And surprise there was 3 hoses leaking and THE aaf VALVE was letting go a lot af smoke even with the engine was red hot. Ps i ordered a new valve $325.00 hoping it will solve this problem..Yvonjaguar

Nice find! Smoke machines are an excellent diagnostic tool. I used one on my XKR to find the cause of a check engine light that had even confused my Indy mechanic. If you've never seen one before, it blows pressurized smoke into the air intake and throughout the engine.
the oil filler tube o-ring was no longer sealing and letting air into the engine when running. With the smoke machine hooked up it was easy to find the escaping smoke and the leak,
