Hi guys,
What do you think is the current value of a 1994 XJS V12 coupe with 10.346 miles on it? I may sale as I have another one, a convertible, and I'm thinking about purchasing an XJR always wanted one.
New headliner, tires, oil, etc
California car always serviced by a Jaguar master mechanic in Sherman Oaks and recently North Hollywood.
I'm tempted to sell it on eBay or Bring your trailer
Here is a link

From what I’ve witnessed over the years....Bring A Trailer seems to fetch the highest dollar amount for these cars...and it’s not even close! Don’t bother with eBay....

Hi Terry007

We meet again!

Well sort of anyway, as we (myself and the gf) came to see you at 'Underworld Camden' in the Band 'Great White' and what a great night that was, as you were all really nice guys and we all had a really great time!

As for your fabulous XJS (Bring a Trailer or ebay) why stop there!

If only it had been included in the Great White music video 'Big Time' 2017 or featured in the next Video that you bring out, then I am sure the Fans would go Crazy to buy her, with just a discreet For Sale note underneath the YouTube Video

If you offered to Autograph the dash for the lucky buyer and had some photos taken of yourself with the Car, then I would not be at all surprised if you were offered more than you were thinking

Especially as the Founder and Lead Singer of the 'Legendary Rock Band' XYZ

Check out XYZ 'Rainy Days' a Song with a haunting melody and one of my favourite Tracks of all time

If XYZ are Touring again the price of your XJS could go through the roof, you could even advertise her in the Programme

Made me wonder how celebrity ownership affects collector car values and ran across an idea for you.

phscollectorcarworld: Celebrity Cars: Is a Big Name's car worth Big Money?

"Hockey Legend, Eddie Shack, put his Plymouth Prowler up for sale with RM Auctions in 2001 at the Fall Classic Auction held in Mississauga, Ontario. Eddie Shack was present on auction day to meet and greet fans. He provided colorful commentary during the bidding and of course, did autographs as well." The article doesn't say whether the Prowler sold for higher than typical market value, but I think putting it in a live auction and being there in person would at least be a lot of fun. When the buyer shows it off at a car show, its not just formerly a celebrity's car, but buying it, meeting you and whole auction experience would become a "story" that he could tell about the car. When I go to car shows, most of the people only recently bought a collector car, already restored and yeah, its cool, but they can't tell anything about it other than a few published statistics that I could look up on my smart phone. When the owner has a personal story about the car, it just makes it several orders of magnitude more interesting. And on top of that, you may gain some new fans or rekindle some old ones with the publicity.

Hi pdupler

That would be a great idea, as there is nothing like a back story to make a 'Cult Car' like an XJS even more interesting than it already is

That is one beautiful Jag. If you do decide to sell, make sure to drop the link here. Currently imagining my garage with 2 black xj-s side by side..

Thank you for the nice comments and private messages. So what do you think is its value? Before I decide to put it up for sale or not ( lots of work) it would be nice to know what I could possibly expect.

Here’s a chart of BringATrailer XJS auction results:

https://bringatrailer.com/jaguar/xjs/

Late model year, low miles, V12, and black color point towards $25k. However, remarkably few XJSs break $10,000 so you should be prepared to accept $15k

personally I would not mention the great white connection, but cannot think of a tactful way to tell you why I believe that .

Beautiful example Terry. If you choose to sell it, I'd agree that bringatrailer.com may be the easiest way to get heavy exposure to true potential buyers. Just choose a reserve you're comfortable with. With that low mileage, the 6.0 V12, and the color combo, I'd wager that you would get over $20K for it.

Opinions vary, but I wouldn't shy away from using the rock star angle. I'm sure you've treated the XJS much better than you might have treated hotel rooms back in the day, right, lol? This was before you were with Great White, but I saw them open for Judas Priest circa 1984.

Ronbros, isn’t your car heavily modded? That’s not BATs usual niche. They sell a stock XJS every two weeks like clockwork.

People are attracted to "bling" like moths to a flame. I would bring a top flight Corvette or thoroughbred Mustang to our local cruise night and most people would walk right past it and ogle one with oversize aftermarket wheels and a $500 engine bay dress-up kit out of the Summit catalog. Given the extraordinary amount of work that goes into restoring "original", you'd think people would appreciate it more. The only thing that's boring about it is that there's always at least a dozen Corvettes and two dozen Mustangs. I've seen only two or three XJS at car shows outside of a Jaguar club event in the last 25 years so there's no danger of an XJS being boring whether its original or not.
