Default Volts to high and BATT light blinking on "video"

Well this just started happening the last couple of days.
With lights air it all off goiing down the freeway @ RPMS higher then 2500,
my volt meter seems to hop to the top up and down and the BATT light blinks on. what could be causing this?

Not really sure what you're trying to say here.

It looks to me like the system is overcharging and thus the high meter reading a warning light. My first guess is a faulty voltage regulator.

Cheers

dang auto correct. needed to say. with driving lights on. and or the a/c on. voltage stays at normal.

the voltage regulator is in the alternator? if I remember correctly.

I think that there is diode pack on the alternator which may have gone a bit pear shaped.
What actually interests me is looking at your oil pressure gauge: I think that for the speed that you are doing it should certainly be reading above 50 psi (I am sure that I will be corrected very soon!) so it might be worth getting that checked out.
The senders do fail over time but if you are not sure then take the car to a garage and get them to put a gauge on it.

Yes, in the alternator.

I wouldn't worry *too* much about the oil pressure. Rule of thumb is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm...and it looks like you have about that or more. And the gauges are not always accurate anyway....which is another reason to check it out just to make sure, I reckon, just to play it safe.

Removing the cluster to clean all the printed circuit contct points and adding a redundant ground on reassembly usually does wonders for the operation and accuracy of the gauges.

Cheers

hmm i wonder if i can just get the regulator.
and yep i just cleaned up my printed circuit and ground connections.
I was having my coolant gauge read higher at norm temps, i knew there was an issue.
this odd grounding problem, was causing my instant fuel on my trip computer to not work. that was such a fun issue to track down.
