Waterpump style bearings - anyone got contacts?
Amazing that Germany, a company known for it's precession machine industry has no proper bearings.
But, alas, next week, I'll work on my Daughter's weird VW PASSAT!!!

I hope it isn't a weird W8 which sits infront of the car instead of within the wheel base...
daim, i bought my WP bearing from this company thet had in stock!
1- 904-255-4509,, Daytona bearing supply, Daytona bch. FL.
forgot pt# long time ago.
but give actual sizes in MM, out side dia.,,bearing length and shaft size dia. , it seems to me i had to cut some off ONE end , with hacksaw, shaft clamped in vice.
cost 22yrs around $20.dollars, price has to be more now!
shipping should be less ,they do international shipping, regularly.

So, my search has come to an end. Thanks again towards Grant, aka the wizard of OZ, for his efforts and help.
My luck: my cousin managed to find a bearing in Britain - maybe the last one? Anyhow, my search has ended
Thanks for your input!

Just for info in case anyone reads this in future, water pump bearings appear to be included in the repair kit from jag spares:

It was all about the mechanical fan, not water pump

To add to the "confusion" this style of bearing is properly called "Integral shaft bearing", but we mechanical types commonly refer to them as water pump bearings.
Where if fact, we should be using proper talk, and "water pump STYLE" bearing would reduce confusion a smidgen, HA.
Anyway, well done, and another V12 ROARS into life.

1. Daim, thank you for the VW work condolence. I got the job done. In the midst of it, daughter negotiated a trade in on a retiring Nissan "Rent a Car". So, I deleted one task.
Swapping in a left cam cover gasket. It "weeps" a bit !! Actually quite an understatement!!! Six fresh NKG plugs. New wires and a coil pack. The only "sticky" par, was parting the harness from the coil pack. A tricky connector. Push, squeeze and pull. alas, it busted, but parted. No harm, new pack included one. Great care in getting the right HT leads on the proper posts. It sounded just fine. Gone.......
2. Yeah, that nomenclature thing. I have a pair of Channel-lock pliers on my tool board. AKA "water pump pliers". That goes way back when WP's were sealed with packing and an adjustable gland nut.
3. Monkey wrench. There are those that confuse them with more prevalent pipe wrenches. I've some of each. Any one care to guess ?
4. The Jeep is back in business. Necropsy revealed a failure of a part of the fuel pump/fuel level sender. Pump part good, rheostat bad. Result, daughter just plumb ran out of gas. Over reliance on the guage that lied, and reported 3/4 tank available.
5. Car clean up on agenda for later. Vacum interiors with shop vac. I hope, it makes noise, but suction is kinda wimpy !!!!
