Default weird problem

Hi, my 82 xjs v12 just stopped running. plenty of oil, fuel, coolant, the battery is fine new. I was running cool according to the gauge but it felt hot. Driving down the road, it just shut off. I checked the inertia switch. It was fine. Could it be a coil overheated and fried? Where should I begin?

Begin by checking for spark.

If you've never done that before, post back

Cheers

+1 to Doug's suggestion for the initial check.

I've moved your post from General Tech Help section to XJS section. Members here with the same model will help with the peculiarities of the V12 ignition system.
