Hello, can someone help me find what is the colour of this xjs, i can't figure if there is some code. I've been in shop supposed to make paints but after they measured the paint with a color spectrum device they ended by suggesting me making an approaching colour. I don't want that, i hate it when a paintwork shows different nuances, disgusting
From what i see it's not a flat green, it has some light metallic particles in the paint.
Maybe someone knows the name or paint code ?

There should be a sticker on the drivers door jamb. It will have three letter codes for both the paint and the interior. That will be your starting point. It would be helpful to know the year of the car.

However, with a car of this age there will be variations in the paint. Some of it is more faded than other parts. It may be subtle, but if you start repainting sections, even with the correct original paint, it will look off.

 

the only thing i see is HET for paint. It's strange the shop didn't saw it and identified the according colour. Anyway one mystery solved, i'll go back to see them and order the paint. From experience, i don't know how it's possible the paint look different if properly prepared. I had an Audi on which paint has been done on door, it was looking bizarre, i ended by searching a used door and the colours were perfectly matching despite the doors were built with 6 years difference.
I hope they'll be able to find the perfect nuance.
