What colour paint is my XJS?
Hi guys
My XJS is in Sapphire Blue Metallic, however I'm a little confused.
I needed to buy some touch up paint the other day to help my boot/trunk badges blend in when I found there are a few Sapphire Blue Metallics:
jaguar paint codes chart
My paint code in my engine bay name plate is JDM however I reckon it looks too light in the sample picture provided in the chart. More like Leo's in Wolf of Wall Street(see pic)
I thought mine looked more like 1806/JHE (Sapphire Blue Metallic Clearcoat) which didn't come out until 1999. Just assumed mine must of had a respray somewhere in the past (not sure) so opted for the latter colour.
When I applied it, it looks alot darker than my current paint job.
Anybody know if my car body looks like a JDM or more like a 1806/JHE ?

I need a drink.
I always thought the Goose was Westminster Blue, but then I really never did go into it.
The paint code on mine stated Sebring Red, and every Sebring Red I ever got was different, and mine was never repainted, so I got the local Crash Supplies guys to colour match a can for me. The codes are never correct in my opinon.

paulyling,
I'm a little confused (admittedly not for the first time!)
JDM is Cobalt blue, not Sapphire. Cobalt Blue is very much lighter than Sapphire. And the Sapphire that was used on XJSs from 1994 is JGE not JHE.
What is that makes you think your car is Sapphire? Had you been told by previous owner?
