Default What is Servotronic. on the steering rack?

I found a place that has our rack and pinion steering racks with a LIFETIME WARRANTY

But I need to know what a Servotronic is... and if it only was offered on 1993 and later Jaguar XJS...

and why...

just asking...

If I'm not mistaken, that would be electric power steering assist.

would you believe it is $20.00 cheaper than my 1992 MY non servotronic
I think either 1992.5 or 1993 started using them....

so that is what they cost cheaper than the one I should use...

it is just a electronicly controlled valve body that reduces the amount of power assist as your speed increases...

May be fine as the manufacturer says it will work even if the electrical power goes off or malfunctions.

I don't think all the XJS racks have servotronic, for it is an electrical component and the rack should have the connector and tranducer for it, but none of the XJS racks has one.
I believe servotronic was introduced from X300.

well if you look through the above PDF you will find that the only thing the elec. control module does it send a control to the rack Valve body to vary the assist pressure.... even has graphs of speed vs newton/meters...

and

XJS SERIES - RACK DOCTOR - Quality Rack and Pinion Remanufacturing

if your read the above PDF the only wiring the electric control module need is the speed input to the speed-o-meter... and power of course
