Where on the gauage does the fan come on?
anyone know where on the temp gauge the fan comes on??
yesterday i took my car out for the first time since putting everything together and it stayed at the n nearly the whole time, i turned around and it went just a hair above it stayed most of the time back, when i stopped at lights and stuff it would go back down to N.
was that the fan kicking on and off?
I had problems with my fan and wanna know its working, but it wasn't on when i shut the car down.but if it wasn't hot enough then thats why i guess.

As I recall it should kick in at 194ºF and turn off at 190ºF or thereabouts. Where there is on the gauge is iffy as the gauge readings vary a lot from car to car.
Or......
Since yours is pre'89 it should come on whenever the compressor clutch is engaged...which means virtually whenever the climate control in "on" in any mode.
Whether or not it stays on for after-cooling depends on the coolant temp when you turn off the ignition
