Motor under vent by windshield. Look with flashlight and you will see a black shield under vent. I believe relay on firewall. Been a while since I did mine a while back, sold now. Take of arms and remove vent and shield. Sheild none for breaking and letting water in motor.

Congratulations. The relays are under the dash, removing the knee trim each side lets you see them all. The wiper delay unit is the relevant item and it is located on the driver's side at he top of the steel carrier furthest to the right. The column switch might also be the trouble, and the motor might have gone home, never a robust item. The entire wiper and motor assembly lifts out of the wiper well once you have undone the four fixings, the smaller of which might be a royal pain to get undone. I attach a pdf of the wiper circuit for your model in case it helps.
If yo are new to the XJS, downloading the Great Palm's XJS book from JagLovers site is a really good start. Good luck with the car, I hope you have fun with it and enjoy it.
