Default Windshield washer pump motor

As one of the last projects before the cat is deemed fully operational, today I reinstalled the windscreen washer tank and pump.

I quickly discovered the pump wasn't working. Thinking that there was little effort in trying to fix it, but just curious how it was put together, I disassembled it.

Happily, the only thing it needed to get it running was to knock the rust off the armature and a drop of oil on both ends of the shaft. How long it will continue running is another matter, but if you find that yours has failed it's less than an hour to fix it. I've not looked into replacement motors, so this may be a waste of time or an essential fix.

The most difficult part of reassembly is to get the flat spot on the shaft to marry up with the pump rotor.

Thanks,

John

Nice job! I just did the same fix on my windshield wiper motor for the same failure. Glad to know the washer is also serviceable.
