Default wires out of the vee

whats the big deal with this upgrade?? Ive seen a lot lately people making a big to do about getting the wires up and the engine frying them and whatnot.

So i guess i should do it..but whys it mentioned so much?? Doesn't it just involve picking the harness up and zip tying it to the fuel rails??

did you see my post in your thermostat thread. thats what happens to the wires that sit down in the V. they just fry to a crisp.

redo all your injector wires like i did, and then run them just under the fuel rail so they dont get hot and brittle.

The original wires from Lucas were under rated for the heat, so they commonly fail. The insulation cracks and falls off, causing shorts.

so you got more wire and tacked it onto the old ones and then re-wrapped it and hung it on the fuel rails?

right. i spliced it in, as close to the fender as possible, where the least damage was.
