Worst Case Scenario
I've been wanting a jag for a few months, mainly an XJR....but until that comes along I've found an 89 XJS V12. So far I've only seen pictures and the car seems to be in good conditon. But the car needs "engine work". So it could be head gasket problems, injectors...god knows what. So here's the question:
If I get the car cheap enough (he's asking $1600) and just wanted to put in a rebuilt engine or have the current one gone through and rebuilt, how much would I be looking at investing in doing so? I'm assuming it probably isn't going to be cheap due to the fact that it's not only a Jaguar but a V12 as well.

RE: Worst Case Scenario
Just maybe a foolish suggestion. Why not check out freightcost from Uk to the US for an engine. I do think it may cost a lot to restore a V12 in the US, but as they are common in UK they are also extremly cheap to buy second hand. You will possibly find a good engine for less the a thousand dollars.
