I would think, as in the respect of having, and enjoying a "Brand New" XJS. Something that's almost impossible, except for this rare occasion. Then heck yeah it's worth it. All of these cars are now 30 to 40 years old. and in some serious need, of various levels of reconditioning. To be enjoyed like they were meant to be, would be a very welcome experience. I just don't think my "Banker" will see the value in it.

He's selling too soon. Prices are starting to rise, but not enough yet.
Also, it's probably going to need every bit of rubber replaced.
Not worth it, in my opinion.

My thoughts too, it's still an old car even if it hasn't turned many wheels.

As a trophy for a well heeled guy or gal, or as a museum piece. Yes.

As a driver. No !! At a bare minimum it needs a set of tires.

Absolutely pretty, though!!!

Not an ordinary XJ-S. Four speed, quad exhausts. XJR-S without the XJR-S badge?
Note the discoloured headlight and the damage under the right inside door handle.

Man who does that??? Take a beautiful "Brand New" car and over 30 or 40 years put 1600 miles on it???? I mean you bought the dang thing DRIVE IT, For God's Sake!

Let me clarify my point a little. Museums are for Extraordinary things, or Historical artifacts, something of significance. Not just a Jaguar XJS convertible, despite how beautiful it is, It's still just a copy, of several, of thousands, of cars that while beautiful, were not that extraordinary. They weren't a Ferrari 250 GTO, racing pedigree, and which only a handful were built. Or the Spirit of St.Louis, a purpose built aircraft, to accomplish a great feat. The Jaguar XKE, has the racing pedigree, and was called the most beautiful car built, by Mr Ferrari himself, which makes it "Extraordinary" There needs to be something that makes the object stand out. To have the "Status", of something you would take, and stuff away in Moth *****, or put into a Museum, so to say.
Just My Thoughts. Or as "Cousin Carroll" would say. "We built these cars to drive the "Hell" out of them, not to be Museum Pieces!"

Well, even the E-Type wasn't all that special for a long time. Nothing like a GTO. Even now, it's the Series I cars that really command the megabucks.
