My XJS has the late 1980's 15 inch lattice wheel. I have an opportunity to purchase a set of the 16 inch 5 spoke/starfish wheels that were fitted to the facelift 1990's XJS models. I have been wanting to upgrade for a while. The lattice wheels are impossible to clean and the range of 15 inch tyres keeps getting smaller.

From what I have read, there should be no problems fitting these to my XJS. Are all offsets etc the same? Can anyone confirm this so I can be 100% sure?

Also, would these facelift 16 inch wheels fit an X300?

Over the years I have seen many photos of the non facelift XJS' with the 16" 5 spoke wheels you are talking about mounted. I believe the bolt pattern is 5 by 4.75.

I am sure that the XJ6 (X300) from 1995 to 1997 will inner change with the facelift XJS so if you have a 1996 XJ6 I would fit one of your XJ6 wheels to your XJS to confirm(make sure to fit on the front so you can confirm it clears the front caliper correctly as your XJS has the inboard rear brakes) .

Is the 5 spoke 16" wheels you are looking at chromed? This was a factory option and they are getting harder to come by.

 

Yes all XJS wheels are interchangeable for fitment if they are 16X8 the front and rear will have different offset. With 8" on the front you will have some rubbing on full lock.

X300 wheels will require a spacer for the front as the suspension was changed so the front and rear offsets were the same 33 if memory serves me correctly. All X300 X305 wheels will fit with spacers on the front as these used 5x120.65 PCD. The Bolt pattern was changed about 2003/04 to 5x120
