The AAV failed the test, it seems it is not working. Will go with rebuilding the AAV, but will take a week to get ready, before proceding

At the same time I am still waiting for new air filters and plug for the CTS, nothing to do with the AAV

Yes, as far as I know, all IC engines have a throttle body.
Well mebbe a very few constant speed units don't. But, an intake for air is a gotta be.


Use your strobe timing light as a spark detector. The ones that read via inductance are handiest. Clamp on to one HT at a time and crank.
No light = no spark!!!


TSP = throttle position sensor.

This thread is VERY helpful! Thanks to all that have added their two bits here!

I'm trying to get my 86 to run too can't. TPS is WAY up around 1V. Now I know what I'm doing tonight.
