Default XJS Coventry wheels

How do you think these wheels would look on the 95 XJS? They are by Coventry made for Jags

Amazing if you don't go too big....maybe 17" would be good (255/45-17)?

They look okay. The bolt pattern looks right on their website. Smallest is 17 x 8. Question is is the offset correct and would these rub anywhere?

Ha, that is interesting. I have been contemplating a set of those in 17" for my '89. If anybody has any or mock-ups, I'd love to see too.

I saw a wheel just like this one if not the same one on a XJS and to my eye it looked very nice. I would agree on the 17" size.

I was eyeing these wheels myself, but thought the bolt pattern was off. Am I mistaken?

I called car ID and another company and they both confirmed the fit

I have the very same wheels on my 1991 XJS.
I mounted 235/50 tires on 8x17 wheel.
I think the 0ff set was 25mm.

How do you think they look on your car?

hey whats wrong with wires? Put them on an XJS and it looks like it must be the higher trim level version or something, it makes any other XJS look like it isn't all there.

Even when they are dirty they look badass and grab attention

Sounds like you might want to buy a set.
As the old saying goes "to each their own", or something like that.

I'm just wondering what is wrong with them. I think they look fantastic and can't think of any reason to complain other than not liking how they look, which is odd to me because I feel like someone who likes a newer style wheel over a wire wheels wouldn't like how the XJS looks to begin with.

I mean, i think bigger wheels like this do look good on the late model XJS, but even on those, I think the wires fit its design much better. I mean, the car doesn't even look like it is from the 80s, most people who don't know guess my car in a 60 or 70 something.

I've had other wires, and not had issues, but I have heard of people who hate wires because "they have to be constantly adjusted."

I've had to reseal one of my wire wheels, but thats it.

The beauty of car ownership is the owner has the last word.
So now we know you like wire wheels, this thread was all about how the Coventry wheel looks on the XJS.

Most folks report less stable cornering, squeals, and hard to get the wheel balanced

Need to buy a dozen to get a matched set if your picky about that kinda stuff.

But, they do absolutely look kewl in my book

If they fit, I'm going to have to put this on the long list.

I'm interested in aftermarket wheels (tasteful, of course) but the "hubcentrism" of our wheel situation has me a little confused and cautious.

No issues with clearance on the hub. Some minor tire rub on rear inner wheel well until I replace the struts and springs.

A. The ideal size wheels for the XJS: 17"
B. Guaranteed fit, other than 1/4" spacers to the front wheels
C. Best of all, hard to find any other wheels that make the XJS look better
D. You stay Jaguar without sweating it for the right looks + correct fitment
E. XK8 Revolvers with Pirelli Pzeros can't go wrong

Haven't ever had any of those issues, I've even balanced them myself on several occasions. They do need adjustment if you race on them, but come on now...
Hmm, wonder what an XJS looks like with classic dunlop racing wheels

Not really sure what you mean by matched set.
