Contact: Yves Paprocki in Quebec, Canada. He refurnished all the wood interior trim for my 93 coupe. Also, I bought a cup ski slope from him. His email: ypaprocki97@gmail.com.
He and the contact in Florida (you mentioned) are rivals. I stayed with Ives. He has a variety of wood grains and types (burl, knotty, tiger, etc.) He has a website.
I appreciate all the input and comments. My resolution had a major directive though that I think was missed... not to alter the look/equipment of the car, particularly with things "stuck" to surfaces. I went for simple and cheap, yes. After a few trips, I find it works as intended with a small side benefit. With a 12oz can or bottle the lid rest down at an angle that shades the container. In Arizona with the top down it's welcome! And the angle of the lid is oddly a more comfortable position for my forearm while driving.
1 of many aftermarket options available. Good choice since it allows more than just a cup of something. Personally, I didn't like the look and passengers commented about them "being in the way".
This is my remedy for my 96 XJS. It was cheap and works for me. I wish the chrome accent was not gold but it comes off. Bonus is that it also has pockets on either side for storage.
