Smile xjs hsa been stored for five years

hello i just got my 1989 xjs need any help i think the e beake is stuck it has not moved in years any ideas?

Hi :-)

Before getting into how a stuck parking brake might be repaired, are you sure that you're releasing it properly?

If the parking brake is applied the lever will be loose...almost as though it isn't connected to anything. Lift wayyyy up on the lever until you feel resistance, push the button, and then let the lever come down. The parking brakes should then release.
