Xjs isn't sparking
I had a fuel pump issue,so checked the main and fuel pump relay which are good.now I haven't got a spark at the plugs, pulled the coil lead and have a good spark here, but doesn't seem to be getting through the plug wires, any ideas anyone?.
Mmmmmm, going out on a limb here, and assuming its a V12??.
Lift the distributor cap, turn it upside down and ensure the "carbon brush" is intact. I have had MANY with this item burnt away, and the symptoms are exactly as those you state.
If so, then a new brush is available, any Bosch, Lucas, GM cap with a spring loaded carbon brush will do the job. Down here we simply buy one from our friendly Holden (GM Aussie style) dealer, at about $5.
I would then look at WHY, and the most common reason I have found is tired and OLD HT leads.

well if the is power going from the coil to the distributor but nothing coming out of the distributor....your problem is in the distributor lol. only difference now is you don't have to pay $60 for a replacement cap
